Who is Kira?
Kira Preneta (she, her/they, them) currently resides in the suburban/rural wilds of the North American Rust Belt, just south of Lake Erie. Born just west of gichi-gami(Lake Superior), Kira feels most at home near big water. As an artist her practices include; reading voraciously poetry of BIPOC Writers, interpreting the tarot for herself and others by pairing it with poetry and hand-cut and pasted collage. Find her planting and tending to gardens as a way to re-connect to the land and otherwise engaging in radical rest. Kira’s writing is often referred to as a gift, a gift she is happy to give and receive. As a mother to 4 children, claiming time for her voice to meet the page is a lesson in inhabiting liminal space and time.
About the Deck
An Artist is someone Kira describes as One with breath, in touch with their Innate Yes.
This Oracle deck was made by Artist hands listening, keeping with & through a period of healing a Traumatic Brain Injury. Kira cut and pasted these oracular images as a way to see their feelings outside of the intense experience occurring in their own body. A fullness of sense & memory crashing, burning and shouting to recreate synapses.
In a process of listening and staying with their collaging practice, Kira would later call YES, they began to see, understand and stay with what they were feeling so intensely.
